AJUDE, Youth Association for the Development of Voluntary Service in Mozambique, was born after the civil war. At this time the country started to go through great transformations and there was a great need to promote solidarity and exchange between Mozambicans.
After the war Mozambican students recognized the need to rebuild social cooperation and create economic stability so to provide people with access to health care, sanitation and education. It was from this recognition that AJUDE was created in 1993.
AJUDE is The Youth Association for Development of Volunteer Service in Mozambique. AJUDE is a non-profit organisation which brings together young people of Mozambique without distinction of race, sex, religion, tribe, level of education or any other way of discrimination. AJUDE’s origin dates back to 1993 when a group of students of the Higher Institute for International Relations formed this organisation with the main objective to actively participate in the reconstruction of Mozambique after a long and destructive civil war.
