ICYE Is a program intending to bring people of different origins, cultures and religions together to break the barriers between cultures and nations.

As a participant of this program, be aware that you are going to be confronted with different political, social, economical and ecological circumstances from those of your home country. It is important that you know that you are not there to judge them but to learn about and accept them. Your horizons will broaden immensely if you incorporate these differences into your outlook.

Objectives of ICYE Mozambique:

• Live in a different culture and learn about it as well as its people and their customs and traditions
• Learn a foreign language
• Get to know norms and values that are different from yours and learn to accept them as well as trying to integrate those new values that are important for your own life into your personality
• Learning to understand new opinions which should help you to question your own
• Develop social competence
• And simply get to know and live the variants and colorful mixtures of our world

Qualification and Requirements:

• Minimum age 17 years
• Be ready to learn a new language
• Be confident and self dependant about living and working in a new environment
• Be patient and ready to learn about a highly different way of life
• Accepting of difference

 

What the Program Is and What it Is Not

1 – THIS PROGRAM IS NOT:
a) A scholarship;
b) A formal education;
c) A tourist trip;
d) A paid work program;
e) It’s not about PARTYING, SEX, DRUGS;
g) It’s not a sleeping in program;
h) No physical fighting;
i) Information technology/Computer program;

1.1 – THE PROGRAM WILL ALSO NOT ALLOW:
